Blog: A Peek At January

January is a busy month in the boudoir studio as we head towards Valentine's Day! After all, boudoir photos are the BEST gift you could possibly give your partner—they'll be stunned when they open up the photo box.

If you're planning on boudoir photos as a gift for Valentine's Day, I do recommend scheduling a couple months in advance (though you can always check in and see if I've had a cancellation!).

So take a stroll through the studio and peek at a few of my January clients here!

Boudoir photos are YOUR private photos
I absolutely only share photos that my clients have approved and allowed me to share. You can choose to have your photos kept completely private if that's what you want to do!

When you choose to share photos, you sign a model release contract so that's why you'll often see boudoir photographers doing "model calls" or looking for "model released" sessions. There's no pressure to give a model release in my studio and I tend to have a third of my clients not give me any model release, a third give me an anonymous model release, and a third give me a full model release!

Sometimes I'll recommend you keeping your photos private, even if you're open to sharing them. Wearing you or your husband's uniform can be fun, classy, and sexy for photos but I'll never share those publicly to keep your jobs safe. It's best to play it safe, whether it's the uniform of a firefighter, police, military, or another sensitive career. Some of my favorite unique and personal images will never be shared! I had the wife of a firefighter come in last year and brought his hat and jacket... those photos are some of my favorite (and she even said I could share) but I let her know that it would be safest to keep these out of the public's eye.
